Thinking about all the assignments you did this month, which ones are you selecting to go into your portfolio folder?
The items that I chose to include in my portfolio for this month are my IDD blueprint and my Capstone Project Planning Process video.
What does your selection(s) say about you as an instructional designer?
These selections show my progression of basic knowledge of Instructional Design to a mastery level. The selection of these two items shows that I have improved in producing work that is succinct and detailed in manner. I am especially proud of the Capstone Project Planning Process video that I created because initially I struggled with creating media. This video shows that I have the skill to utilize numerous aspects to create impactful content that is also engaging.
What skills did you learn this month? How can you best demonstrate those in your final portfolio?
The skills I learned this month were how to scaffold the details and use of Instructional Design documents into one final, succinct document that explains the goals and tasks of a training program. One of the areas in which I struggled previously and discussed with Dr. Reo was that I tend to provide too many details and go over time constraints. Starting with the creation of a TNA, to then create an FPI diagram, to then use that to create my HTA, and then use all of those documents to create my IDD Blueprint solidified my skills of referencing pertinent documentation needed to communicate how a training course will be delivered.
These skills will be best demonstrated in my final portfolio by showcasing these exact documents used in my capstone project.
